Federal Center for Medicare Services (CMS) announced Thursday, February 27, 2020 its approval of Community Ambulance’s application to offer Emergency Treat and Transport (ET3) services. Due to the excellent performance of the company’s care providers, the company’s national CAAS accreditation status and the company leaders’ forward thinking and progressive EMS culture/business plans, Community Ambulance conducted a comprehensive application process to participate in the CMS ET3 payment model for the next five years. As an approved participant and with the SNHD’s approval, Community Ambulance will have additional flexibility in getting fee-for-service and low acuity Medicare patients to the most appropriate medical facility after a 9-1-1 response. Under pending, strict, medically directed guidelines, select patients may be treated in place by the company’s-contracted telemedicine services. These telemedicine services will be facilitated by Community Ambulance responders.
The ET3 Model is set to begin during the Spring of 2020.
